UNIT 01 : DO YOU SEE ME LIKE I SEE YOU?
In this unit, I studied about observational drawing which was about looking at people and objects closely, also I leaned about the conceptual drawing which was about thinking of people and things in my mind, and use my experience and memory to draw to picture. Also, there are 2 different contents in drawing: descriptive and expressive. For the former, it is about focusing on physical appearance of things such as shape, size, and texture. For the latter, it is about the feeling which can be conveyed through the drawing that express the person's personality etc.
For the project, I was assigned to used what I had learned to draw the self-portrait and things that important or related to my life. Therefore, I decided to draw myself on the left side of the paper, and a forest as a setting. In my opinion, the forest is very important for me as it really shows my personality. For example, the tress which breeds the cake, love, and flowers. Also, the sky which looks like the galaxy because I am interested in studying about the world. If looking at my drawing closely, it can be seen that there is a witch near the moon. It came from my passion in an Japanese animation. However, there is a pond on the left side of me which reflects that the forest is only my dream world.
unit 02 : x marks the spot
In this unit, I learned about using the line as a tool to communicate the story and feeling. Similar to the previous unit, I stilled use the descriptive and expressive contents to draw. I think that it is so significant to use this technique in line drawing which needs meticulous works. Because practice makes perfect, I did the exercises which are about hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, and scumbling. My most favorite part of this project is bling contour drawing that I needed to drawing picture of my classmates without looking at the pictures and lifting my hand.

Unit 03 beyond a shadow of a doubt
For this work, I needed to draw the picture based on what I saw. First of all, me and my friends chose the objects which we would draw together;we chose glasses and bottles. Then, we set them up and we turned off the light because the objects would be seen more clearly and the texture would be seen more distinctly. After that, I used a charcoal stick to drew. After I finished drawing, I created the shadow by using the technique I learned from my teacher. Lastly, I created background color to make my objects outstanding.

unit 4 everyday in a new way
This is one of the most important I did. At first, after I received the topic which was the teenage life, I started thinking about the idea that I was going to communicate to my audiences, and my final thought was that while everyone is growing up, he/she has to overcome a lot of struggles before becoming an adult. Thus, I chose a tree as a symbol of life, and I showed my thought by cutting, watering, and blowing ,but I could eventually be a beautiful tree.

unit 5 invisible imprint
For this work, it was about how I would use the visual communication to engage the audience and express the invisible social problems. In this work, I chose to do about bribe in the court because I thought that people in the society usually ignore this problems since they think that they will be in danger if they involve in this problems and they even think that it is far from their daily life;however, it is very important because there are many people who was victims and had a bad life from bribing in the court.

unit 6 optical hopscotch

For this project, since I had learned a lot about the visual communication, this was another work that I needed to use my knowledge to further develop my work. This work I needed to use a collaboration from the shape, line, and color to express the context from my friend's poem which he wrote about his experience from ROTC (military services).

unit 7 final project
This picture here is my final project which I am really proud of. My inspiration from this work is that I wanted to express my mind when I listened to music to the audiences. I chose music because I think that music is a part of my life;I always listen to the songs every time I have free time, and when I listen to them, I usually see pictures and lines in my head. Therefore, I decided to express what I see in this work. Also, I used 3 techniques which I learned from this class. First of all, I used line to create the movement. Secondly, I used vivid color to give the feeling of energetic. Lastly, I used carving and copying technique to make my work more special.
MUIDS ESLOS : Innovative Thinker I used my knowledge to create my final project which is the original work. While I was doing this, I thought a lot about how to make my work perfect. |
