In the second quarter, I learned about the ancient Thai dynasties which are Ayutthaya and Thonburi. The lessons also included the introduction to the dynasty and facts. In the beginning of the class, the students learned about the fundamental information about Ayutthaya such as the founder, geography, and society. In my opinion, there are a lot of new things that I have learned from this class. For example, the people’s belief like they needed to drink the water that had their blood to show that they were loyal to their majesty. Also, there are some fun facts that the teachers taught the students which made me shocked and interested since modern people do not do and have like them, and the class did the same thing with Thonburi Dynasty. Also, there was a project in the end of the quarter that the students needed to write the research essay on the topic that my teacher gave, and I got ‘the abolition of slavery in Thailand’ which I had to do some research to find the reliable sources, then write them in paragraphs that included introduction, bodies, and conclusion. From my perspective, I have leaned a lot about Thai history in the deep horizon.
Since I have learned a lot about Thai history, I am sure that I will be about to use and adapt my knowledge to my further learning in this class. Also, because I did a lot of project in the last two quarters, I will be able to use my knowledge from doing those projects, plus the past mistakes, to help me completing my future assignments. To relate to the school’s ESLOs, I had shown that I was the innovative thinker who performed critical thinking because to do the projects, I needed to think a lot before writing which definitely helped myself to improve my critical thinking skills which it will benefit me in the future.
